One Tree for One Blog..... That's what the team at kauf-Da tells us and thanks to them my blog is carbon neutral! Here's the skinny....Nobody knows for sure how much carbon dioxide a particular tree can absorb as there are many different calculations for the saving potential of a tree, but according to a study by a Harvard University physicist's report, an average website causes about 8lbs of carbon dioxide emissions a year (mainly caused by the mainframes blogs are posted on plus servers and coolers) and one tree can absorb 11lbs of carbon dioxide per year.
The crew at kauf-Da is making it easy for everyone to have a carbon neutral blog by their impressive (and free) initiative called "Make It Green" where they will plant one tree for one blog. How cool is that? The trees will be planted in the Plumas National Forest in Northern California by the Arbor Day Foundation.
